Many of you will already know a little bit about the work that  Deafblind UK are doing as the Environment Agency use the Centre near Hampton for seminars, team days, meetings etc.

I was extremely impressed and touched by the incredible dedication and passion that was demonstrated whenever you spoke to members of staff. The work that goes on there is very rarely promoted.

Complex levels of care means that funding is always an issue so it would be terrific if we in the Environment Agency could all contribute in some way financially. My aim is to collect £1,000 . How this is collected is up to you. I know Christmas, the recent winter has all meant extra expense , there is a credit crunch and that many of you give to other worthwhile causes already but whatever you could contribute, I know would be gratefully appreciated. 

The Race is on Sunday 26th April, 2009, less than a month to go but I've been in training since September and have already racked up over 500 miles on the road, ran a couple of races, the most recent being a 20 mile race around Oakley near Bedford. My goal is to run sub 4 hours ( a real challenge for me , honestly!).

I do look forward to your support and I'll do my best to keep you updated with regular reports as to how I'm doing.
