Thanks for visiting our page. A team of us here at Russel Jones & Walker are heading out to Uganda in April to support Soft Power Education, a British Charity and Ugandan NGO working to improve the qulity of life in Uganda through education. One of their key projects is a School Refurbishment Programme working to create inspiring learning environments at Government Primary Schools in support of the Universal Primary Education policy.
To date they have worked at 45 primary schools across 7 sub counties, renovating,refurbishing and building over 400 classrooms as well as installing pit latrines and water catchment tanks.
We are fundraising to build an additional classroom block at Wansimba Primary School in Butagaya sub county. The school currently has over 1500 children in just 14 classrooms meaning over 100 children per classroom. They are in desperate need of our support so we are aiming to fundraise 10,000 pounds!
