Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ward 11 at Queens Hospital Burton is a Female Surgical Ward specialising in caring for all women undergoing surgery for such things as Breast and Bowel Cancer to things like appedicitis and varicose veins. We're trying to raise money to replace our E.C.G (Echo Cardiogram) machine which is very old and malfunctions continously.

Our E.C.G machine is vital for checking the health of patients waiting for surgery but also in emergency situtations that could help save lives.

In order to raise money for a new E.C.G machine we have decided to take part in the Lichfield 10K Road Race run, with sponsorship donations. There are 28 members of staff who have bravely put themselves forward to take part in this, what could be, a mammoth challenge. I say this as most of us are not professional runners, just determined people with a pair of trainers and a goal. Its not just nurses taking part, doctors, health care assistants, students, physiotherapists and bed managers are all giving their time to make a difference.

A new machine would cost the ward £7000 and every penny donated to us counts so much.

So please dig deep and donate now, thank you.
