Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Some of the Employment Team at Ward Hadaway are attempting the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on 2 October 2009. This involves a walk of 24.5 miles, taking in over 5,000 feet so the word 'challenge' is not to be taken lightly. On top of all of this we're doing it in October, so it's likely to be cold, dark and wet. Surely that must be worth a couple of quid?
The reason we're putting ourselves through this ordeal is to raise money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. Bobby Robson fought cancer five times but 17 years after he was first diagnosed, he lost his battle on 31 July 2009. After retiring from football management, Sir Bobby spent the last 18 months of his life working towards a new goal - fighting cancer through his charity.
The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation focuses on the early detection and treatment of cancer and the clinical trials of new drugs that one day will beat it. It is a fantastic cause and in memory of a true legend.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate whatever you can afford now. Every penny really does count.
Thank you
