NCH Charity Football Tournament · 6 May 2008

We protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support. We ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives. Our vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Story

Saturday 7th June sees annual charity five-a-side tournament, FIFE, kick off at West Ham FC's Upton Park ground.

Run exclusively by companies working within the British film industry, FIFE does some very good work for charity, in particular for the UK's largest children's charity, NCH (www.nch.org.uk).

So far, so very, very good. The only fly in the well-organised ointment is that each team has to contribute charitable donations to the order of £1,000. The WB football squad would like to field three teams so the total required is £3,000. And it has to do so by Friday.

The really encouraging news is that WB has already jumped on the bandwagon - an insider suggests it'll support the cause by matching the first £500 raised, so we just need £2,500 to get the teams to E13 and make some dreams come true.

Needless to say - putting the footy aside - it's all for a fabulous cause.
