I'm attempting to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats in 12 days, starting on the 11th of July. The ride is roughly 1000 miles on winding, hilly back roads (feeling sorry for me yet?) and averages about 85 miles per day. None of us have done anything like this before, hence why we are “attempting” it!
The money I raise will be split evenly between two great causes, and the cost of the ride and support is all self funded:
The Cancer Information Point provides invaluable information to cancer patients and their families and carers, and is staffed entirely by volunteers, who do an amazing job in supporting this group.
A “Mother & Baby garden" has just been built by the Trust and will provide some peace and tranquility for families. It needs plants, shrubs and trees.
If I do amazingly well and half the money I raise more than covers the mother and baby garden, then any extra will go to the Charitble fund anyway!
1p per mile (£10) would be fantastic, but anything you can give - even 1/2 p per mile or the minimum is great! (-:
Our planned route will be: (Please feel free to stand by the side of the road with chocolate and coffee!)
