Warwick's Half Marathon Journey

Newark Half Marathon · 12 August 2018
Last year was the toughest year of my life by far...
In April I went to the doctors after feeling tired and fatigued. I gave a blood sample, and within 24 hours I had been admitted to City Hospital in Nottingham having been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.
I have received so much support from so many different people in the past year as I got better, and the Teenage Cancer Trust have been brilliant to me from the off!
In November I went to FYSOT - Find Your Sense of Tumour - a conference where I met countless other inspiring people dealing with cancer. The weekend was inspiring and has helped me realise some of the ways I’ve been struggling since I left Hospital.
My blood counts are rising and I’m now looking to really push myself. A few months ago I couldn’t walk more than a few minutes. Now I want to build myself up throughout the year and run 13 miles to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. They have given me so much and now I want to give back.
Any support would be greatly appreciated!
