· 49,000- premature births in the UK every year;
· £1,200- the cost for one night's stay at the neonatal unit;
· 500- Babies are cared for each year in the Neonatal Unit at St Georges;
· 95%- Survival rate for babies born after 28weeks;
· 7%- Of births are premature in England and Wales.
