Waterloo Quarter BID is entering the Great Varsity Boat Race
- in aid of Ovacome, the ovarian cancer support network
Not usually known for their sporting prowess, staff and Directors of the Waterloo Quarter BID will be taking part in the Great Varsity Boat Race on 29th September outside the Shell Building on York Road. Near to, but not actually in the Thames...
We will be racing teams from the local Police team and other local businesses (including the Waterloo pub landlords) on rowing machines over the distance of the 'real' Varsity Boat Race - only this time without the Olympic athletes.
We are raising money for Ovacome, the ovarian cancer support network. Jenny Agutter, the charity's patron, will be starting the races.
Please help us raise our target of £500 for this very worthy cause. Any donation, no matter how small, will be very gratefully received.
We may even be wearing silly costumes, so do come along and show your support if you are in the vicinity of the Shell Building at 9am next Tuesday. Surely our ritual embarrassment is worth a fiver?
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
