Personal message:

Thanks for taking time out to look at this web page.

Recently a close friend of ours' father was diagnosed with alzheimers. This is a debilitating disease which deeply affects both the person with it and those loved ones around him. Our friend has shown incredible strength of will during this time and has been a rock for both her parents during this tough time. To show our support me and another friend (Dave) have decided to try to raise funds towards helping research into this condition.

Now we racked our brains (didnt take long admittedly!) to find something that we could both do which would raise as much money as possible. We ruled out anything involving physical exercise (not as fit as we used to be!) and anything which could involve intense danger (bungee jump...not a good idea to be suspended 30ft above the ground by a piece of elastic!) We then decided that the best way for us to raise money was to do a sponsored "hair" waxing session.

Now Dave and I have our fair share of body hair. He is border-line simian in his appearance(!) with masses of hair on his chest and back. I, thankfully, only have a hairy chest however I have had my goatee beard since I was 17 and the last time I saw my face, unbeadered, was approximately 10 years ago. Therefore we have both decided that Dave will have his chest and back waxed and I will have my chest waxed and someone will have the privilege of shaving my beard off (can't bear to do it myself!)

Obviously we will not be going through this pain (and many female friends have delighted us both with stories of the pain we are liable to be in!) without your help, support and, more importantly, cold hard cash! We have set ourselves a donation target of £500 so please give generously so we can help, in however small way, to give something for research into Alzheimers.

Thank you reading this and please give as much as you can
