The Cox cousins will be taking part in Barcelona Bangers on the 21st-23rd May 2010 to raise money for the Mark Davies injured riders fund.
The MDIRF has been helping in horse related accidents for 21 years and is still the only charity in the UK to do this. There is loads of support for horses, and help for Jockeys but if you happened to have an accident in which a horse is involved, whether you are the rider, handler or just an innocent bystander and you need help, the MDIRF is your best, and probably only hope.
Barcelona Bangers will take them from Calais to Lyon (420 miles), Lyon to Nice (200 miles) and then finally Nice to Barcelona (300 miles) in a car worth no more £200 and this car has to be completely road legal and then the car also has to make it home again where we will then sell the car and give the money to MDIRF this car has been decorated to look like a coloured horse.
They found a very old volvo 850 which will be a splendid example of a coloured horse, 20 gallons of black and white paint later!!!! or maybe a jigsaw-puzzle gone wrong, but we got it kicking and screaming through its M.O.T.
You'll know its us, because our breeches are so wide they'll be flapping in the wind.
On a more serious note Wayne Cox shows and produces coloured horses and mountain and moorlands in hand and ridden nationally at county shows and championships he started showing about 4 years ago after nearly 30years of showjumping and eventing.
We're looking forward to this trip immensely and hoping through you guys, to raise a decent amount of money to support the injured riders fund.
