My story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The photo is of Max our beautiful son aged 7.

At 5 months old Max was very poorly and was diagnosed with posterior - urethral valves. Unfortunately this caused kidney and bladder damage. However after the wonderful treatment and care received from Birmingham Children's Hospital he is now doing great.

My wife and I thought we would never be able to thank the children's hospital enough and so when I received a call from the fund raising team asking if I would run the 2012 London Marathon well how could I refuse!!?

The Birmingham Childrens Hospital is a cause which is near to our hearts having experienced first hand the fantastic work which they do.

As an added incentive I am offering to run the marathon in fancy dress!!!So please dig deep and donate now, dont forget "what to wear - you decide"

My aim is to raise £5,000 by running in FANCY DRESS. You can help to choose what I wear: there is a choice of outfits, from a fairy to a superhero!  So when you donate please add your choice of costumefrom the list below:

A) Pretty Fairy

B) Golden Angel

C) Bumble Bee

D) Little Leprechaun

E) Football strip of your choice (This one could really hurt - I'm a

Birmingham City fan)

F) Superhero

G) As it's an Olympic year - a Greek Olympian (Hopefully I'll look like

one after all the training!)

H) Dainty(?!?!?) Ballet Dancer

I) You decide...(within reason as I won't be running dressed in a Borat man-kini or in a gorilla suit)

Thanks....Team Porter.
