RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

I'm sure you'll agree that for all of us that spend time on the sea, the RNLI is one charity that we all have a joint affinity with, though hopefully we'll never get to call on their actual services!

The Three Forts Marathon is unique, in that it is actually 27.2 miles, hence we have to go that "extra mile". It starts behind the Norwich Union Building off the A27 and heads North up to Cissbury where we head East to Devils Dyke, turning round and following the South Downs way to Chanctonbury, then back to Cissbury, so for those that know the Downs, there's a fair amount of climbing involved!

All entry fees go towards the RNLI, and the Shoreham Harbour Appeal so I've already shelled out £15 so now it's your turn!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
