Having inherited her mother's talent for doing something stupid Phoebe Gates will be spending her 11th birthday on 18/07/10 climbing a Munro, 3195 feet of rain soaked wind swept Scottish hill, in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

As some of you will know Phoebe's beloved Pops fought both myeloma and leukaemia, sadly losing his battle when she was just four years old. No doubt he would be incredibly proud of her hillwalking escapades particularly for a cause which means a lot to us as a family.

Obviously we are not just sending Phoebe up a huge hill by herself, she will be ably assisted by family and friends who are taking the challenge up for personal reasons (drink fuelled pub bet). Rest assured though you are sponsoring the little one.

This is something that Phoebe has chosen to do herself and has been training hard in all weathers to ensure she is up to the challenge.
