THE GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE
CHANGE OF CHALLENGE!
we have just had the news that the China Challenge has been cancelled, not by RAFA I must add, we have been offered the options of doing the China Challenge next April 2010, choosing a differnet Challenge or cancelling altogether, we have opted for doing a different Challenge, we didn't want the money raised to be sat in the bank until next year! Our new Challenge will be to Camp and Walk the Grand Canyon for 9 days,we will be walking an average of 10 miles a day, part of this Challenge will be to jump off the side of the Canyon into the river and swim over to the other side, not sure I will enjoy that day!! We hope that you will approve of our choice and continue to support us on this new venture.
As many of you know, I have worked for the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) in the Area Headquarters in Exeter for 6 years, and in that time I have done many unusual and interesting things(!) for the Association. However, I believe that I have now taken on my greatest challenge which I hope will help raise valuable funds for RAFA.
My husband Nick and I have committed ourselves to walk part of the Grand Canyon for RAFA! For 9 days in October 2009 we will be walking 10 miles a day, and as many of you know, I am not renowned for my fitness (more for my socialising and drinking habits!), so this is indeed quite a challenge!
To enable us to take part, Nick and I have to raise £3000 each to qualify, so we are hoping that our many friends will give us suppport. .The more we raise, the more training we will do!
Please send this to eveyone you know, and in turn We promise to send you all a photo of us in the Grand Canyon!
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The RAF Association (RAFA) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks
Wendy & Nick
