Dementia Concern is a local organisation that provides emotional support and practical services to meet the changing needs of people with dementia and their carers.

Story

Hello,

Some of my earliest childhood memories as a child were the great adventures with my grandfather, who could somehow make the every day seem more fun & exciting.

Stationed in India through the last days of the Empire, a tank commander in the Second World War. George it had to be said was “old school”. The centre of attention, the head of his family who he loved and drove mad with equal flair.

I won’t go into the steady & cruel decline that turns an invincible, full of life, funny, stubborn, caring husband & father into the shell of a man which Alzheimer’s left George. We all at least know of someone or many cases lost loved ones to Alzheimer’s.

What makes horrific terminal disease worse is the lack of support to sufferers & carer’s alike. Which is why I’d like you to sponsor myself, Steve & Rose run the London Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Concern Ealing. A locally based charity helping sufferers & carer’s of Alzheimer’s.

Please Donate directly onto this website or for a mere £10 you can be the proud owner of the West 4 Harriers running club calandar featuring some of the most glamorous members (please indicate that you want a clandar in the comment field & tick yes to "gift Aid Ticket") who have also got behind this charity with all proceeds going to the ACE.  Dated Feb 09 - Feb 10.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Concern Ealing gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
