James and myself are cycling 10,000 miles from Turkey to Hong Kong. It is a very exciting adventure that will see us passing amongst the kindness and hospitality of the Iranian people, before we enter the Himalayan mountains and the start of the Silk Road that will bring us into China. This is where the climate will go beyond the already below freezing temperatures, potentially reaching the extremes of -50 degrees celcius at times. This area of the journey will be in the depths of Winter and may take a few months, possibly longer, depending on whether we get snowed in or run into difficulty. We will then be crossing the Himalayan mountains in order to pedal ourselves across the entirety of China to reach the finish line in Hong Kong. Obviously it will be a very difficult journey; it is not only the harsh winter climate that we face, but the Himalayan mountains as well as some fairly dangerous areas of the world. We wanted to do this journey for a good cause and both James and myself felt that the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity was very close to our hearts.
