The Lancashire Wildlife Trust works to save and protect wild spaces for nature to thrive and for people to enjoy. From our towns and cities, to the coastal dunes, right up to the moors; we protect wild places across our region, providing homes for an astonishing array of wildlife.

Story

Wheels for Wildlife is a fun and rewarding fundraising event for the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside.

There are a choice of three routes, "family", "fitness" and "fanatics" to suit all ages and abilities.  The start and finish is at Preston College in Lancashire, UK and rides out through the beautiful Trough of Bowland to Chipping and back.

The routes are on a mixture of cycle paths and public highways - it is not a race and remember the highway code applies!

We hope to raise even more sponsorship than last year, where there were thrills and spills but no broken bones, one broken crank, several sore bottoms and grins / sighs of satisfaction all round.  Star of the day was 8yr old Harrison Hanson who completed the 25mile ride to Chipping and back and raised £104 in sponsorship. Well done Harrison!!

This year we have a dedicated website at www.wheelsforwildlife.org which provides full details of routes, important safety information and training & sponsorship tips.  For you technically minded cyclists you can even download the routes to your sat-nav!

To enter the event please click on the "Sponsor Me" button.  Please remember that when you're asked if this is "to buy a ticket to an event, raffle or auction" please tick "Yes".   When payment is confirmed you will receive an email with further details about registration on the day.
