We provide expert care and support to young people with cancer

Story

Dumball veterans Jess Holliday, Caroline Densley, Michelle Coomber and Becca Pelly-Fry will be driving around the cape of India in 2016. We managed to raise £2,300 in 2014 as "Camelflage", and we hope to smash that by raising £4k this time.

As an added twist (and as our namesake suggests), we will be accepting your "dares" in return for sponsorship - so get creative! There'll be plenty of photographic evidence upon our return.

In 2016, the Dumball will be hiring a bunch of Indian taxi cabs to spread our special love around the cape of India - and this time as team "Where Seagulls Dare", we'll be donning various different outfits in the hopes of raising some cash for Teenage Cancer Trust. Over the course of the journey, we'll be variously dressed as: Bird Watchers, A flock of seagulls, Brits-by-the-sea, WWII fighter pilots, Brighton & Hove Albion (AKA The Seagulls).

The Dumball Rally has been going since 2007 and in that time has raised over £500,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust, helping them to create a new specialist teenage cancer unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital, crucially filling the gap between the children's unit and the adult unit.

At the launch party in London two weeks ago, we heard the story of Adam Horn, who took part in the first rally whilst his Leukaemia was in remission - he had sadly lost his leg to the disease and the rally was key to keeping up his spirits. Adam finally succumbed to the cancer in 2008 and the rally has sought to keep his memory alive and raising money for TCT since then. You can hear Adam's story on YouTube here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nqDVnLM1U0

This year, in response to recent disasters, part of the money is also going to the Nepal Earthquake Fund.

We would be hugely grateful for any amount you feel you could donate to the cause, the aim is for each of the team members to raise £1000 (so £4000 in total for our team) and we would be overjoyed if we managed it.

Thanks for visiting our JustGiving Page! We are fundraising to support the amazing work that Teenage Cancer Trust do. It would be great if you could donate and share my Page so I can raise as much as possible to help them provide expert care and support to young people with cancer. Thank you.
