Welcome to our fundraising page. As you've probably guessed AJ and myself are entered for the 2008 London marathon and are both running for the Parkinson's Disease Society, a great charity that’s dedicated to supporting people with Parkinson’s as well as their families, friends and carers too. If you don't already know our father suffers from Parkinson's and so we are both very motivated to raise as much money as possible for this very worthwhile cause.
Both AJ and myself are not exactly keen runners and so this marathon poses a huge challenge. We’re following a 4 month training programme which will hopefully help us make it round but please don’t ask us about times however, we’re just aiming to make it round without loosing our toe nails or without the bleeding nipples!
We intend to keep people up to date with our training via emails and facebook and keep everyone posted on upcoming fundraising events, there is talk of an Imperial Leisure charity gig amongst other ideas. If anyone has any other ideas for fundraising or ideas on what we could possibly dress up as on the big day too or maybe even just messages of support please let us know.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Parkinson's Disease Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
And if you're not doing anything on the 13th of April why not come down and suuport (laugh at) us!
Many thanks for your support.
Ian and AJ
