Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Whitehaven Cycle Fundraisers has been on the go now for 6 years. We are a group of cyclists who raise money for local charities by doing a long distance cycle ride in under 12 hours. This year we are cycling from Whitehaven to York on 21st June. This is around 150 miles and there are 50 cyclists taking part.

Our chosen charity this year is the West Cumbria Branch of the Parkinsons Disease Society. Our target is to raise £5000.

The West Cumbria Branch of Parkinson’s Disease is a small but committed group of volunteers who rely on charity to help others.  Its purpose is to reduce the suffering of fellow West Cumbrians and offer relief to their families. The funds go towards nursing costs, transport costs, day trips and spa days where the patient can get relief from otherwise unremitting aches and pains.

This ride will raise more money than any other single contribution to the West Cumbria branch of Parkinson’s Disease and you can make this happen; you can make a difference to people’s lives.

Please have a look at our website, www.whitehavencyclefundraisers.co.uk where you will find everything you need to know about us.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Parkinson's Disease Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
