Story
Hi, and thank for coming to visit my justgiving page.
I am taking part in the Great Scottish Swim 1 mile Open Water Swim on Loch Lomond to firstly raise money for The Yorkhill Children's Charity, and secondly to see if my swimming skills are up to the task! Prior to this, the only thing I have ever accomplished swimming was rescuing a black brick from the deep end of Dunoon Swimming Pool. I'm yet to save any other bricks from drowning since then...
The reason I have chosen The Yorkhill Children's Charity is that when I was born, after a few days of being home I was very, very poorly. I was taken to Dunoon General Hospital, then transferred to Inverclyde Hospital in Greenock and then ultimately had to have an emergency operation at The Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Yorkhill, Glasgow. After that I remained there for 6 weeks recovering. So I figure I owe them a few pounds for the heating and electric. On a serious note, I can only imagine the fear that my parents went through at the time. Many thousands more children and parents since then have relied on the specialist care provided by The Royal Hospital for Sick Children (which is supported by The Yorkhill Children's Charity), and many thousands more will in the future.
I am asking you to donate whatever amount that you can, and thanks again for reading my page.
Craig.
