2007 UK Ironman 70.3 Triathlon · 17 June 2007 ·

Rotary - the global network of community volunteers - supporting those in need and charitable causes worldwide. Through a Charity Partnership with IronmanUK athletes are raising sponsorship monies for Rotary supported causes; principally Leukaemia Research, Breast Cancer Awareness, Children's Hospice, Shelter Box, Air Ambulance, and various youth and sports causes in the UK.

Story

On the 17th June I will be entering a whole new world of pain in an attempt to finish what is reaconed to be one of the hardest Half Ironman Triathlon events in the UK.

Starting with a 1.2 mile open water swim, I'll then hop onto my bike to ride 56 (hilly) miles, followed by a 13.1 mile run (this may be a walk or crawl).

As you can imagine, this is going to be quite hard work, so I've decided to try to raise a little money for some great charities through the Rotary Club. Your money will go towards great things like Leukemia Research, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Air Ambulance (which I may be needing at the ned of the day.) as well as supporting the Rotary Club in general.

I need to raise at least £1000, although it would be great if I could raise more than this, so please give generously!
