Since joining my family's funeral business 21 years ago I have been privileged to assist in the sad duty of helping parents lay a child to rest.

Since becoming a proud father in April 2009 I have experienced the amazing love a parent has for their child and the unconditional love that is returned. In turn, this has given me a better understanding of the agony bereaved parents endure.

Mel and I are fortunate that our little Beatrice is well, but others are not as fortunate.

I'm taking part in this walk to ensure that Children's Hospice South West is able to continue to care and support terminally ill children and their parents.

I've set a target of £1,000.00 but with your help and support we can smash this figure.

Please dig deep and give as much as you can.

I'm starting the fund with a personal donation of £100.00, only nine more people need to do the same and we've already made a huge difference to the lives of the children and families who turn to Children's Hospice South West for support.

Sincere thanks,

Ryan.

UPDATE 14/06/10 - Many thanks to Father Robert Miller and Mr Peter Herridge for the donations received offline.

UPDATE 29/06/10 - The donations received to date, both online and offline, combined with giftaid contributions, means we've actually passed the £1,000.00 mark! Thank you all so much, but we're not stopping there. Once online donations have passed £1,000.00 I'm going to be aiming for a target of £1,500.00, it's possible with your help.

UPDATE 05/07/10 - A huge thank you to David Savill and the other partners at Bishop Fleming (our accountants) for donating an amazing £100.00. This has taken the total of donations received to over £1,000.00, so now I'm aiming for £1,500.00. We can do it, we can make a difference!

UPDATE 09/07/10 - Thank you to Mary Tomes and the team from Colourful Coffins for their generous donation of £50.00.

UPDATE 23/07/10 - Thank you to the wonderful folks at Tiverton Rugby Club for their very kind donation of £50.00.

UPDATE 28/07/10 - Thank you to Reverend Terry and Mrs Mai Curnow for their very kind offline donation.

UPDATE 04/08/10 - Mrs Diana Thomas has donated a truly amazing £429.23, the donations collected in memory of her late Mother at the Memorial Service at St. Michael and All Angels Church, Bampton (http://www.whsquires.co.uk/notices/2010/100726coles.html). Thank you so much Diana, this wonderful gift has taken us beyond the £1,500.00 mark and is now putting us even closer to £2,000.00!

UPDATE 16/08/10 - Thank you to Mr Rex and Mrs Jenny Saunders who have made a generous offline donation and signed a GiftAid form, meaning even more money goes to Childrens Hospice South West.

UPDATE 24/08/10 - Thank you to Shirley and the girls at Culm Florist, Cullompton for their generous donation of £50.00.

UPDATE 02/09/10 - Thank you to Mrs Pamela Disney, another client of Walter H. Squires & Son who has given a donation to Childrens Hospice South West.

UPDATE 14/09/10 - A huge thank you to Reverend Richard Cloete for his very kind donation of £50.00. We are only pence away from breaking the £2,000.00 target, then it's onwards and upwards to £2,250.00!

UPDATE 15/09/10 - Thanks to Martyn and Caroline we've now broken the £2,000.00 mark, so I'm now aiming for £2,250.00.

UPDATE 15/09/10 - Thank you to Mr and Mrs Atkins, of St. Peter's Church, Tiverton, for their kind offline donation.

UPDATE 15/09/10 - The very kind folks at Westend Bowling Club have raised £141.00 in sponsorship, nearly every penny can be GiftAided which is great news.

UPDATE 24/09/10 - Sponsorship by Luke Howgate & Son and the staff of Walter H. Squires & Son means we have beaten the £2,250.00 mark, add to that approximately £230.00 of GiftAid and together we're able to give Children's Hospice South West more than £2,500.00! Amazing, well done everyone but don't forget you can continue to donate even after tomorrow's walk.

UPDATE 27/09/10 - Tom and Valerie Drew have donated an amazing £100.00 bringing total sponsorship to more than £2,460.00. Including Giftaid contributions this means the total is nearer to £3,000.00. Thank you so much Tom and Valerie, your kindness is really appreciated.

UPDATE 27/09/10 - Thank you to KARS of Tiverton for their kind donation.

UPDATE 27/09/10 - Thank you to Bill Fry and the folks at Clarke & Strong Ltd for their very kind donation.
