Ok, so i've done a few cycling challenges before - so whats different this year?

Well instead of completing long distances, i'm heading uphill instead!... And i do mean uphill!!

At the end of July, I will be taking on Mont Ventoux (1912m) "The Giant of Provence" in the French Alps - not just once, but by the 3 different roads that lead up the mountain...all on the same day!

The total ride distance for the day will be about 90miles, but half of them will be uphill, thats nearly 19,000ft of climbing at a gradient of up to 11% (to give this some perspective, Ben Nevis is c4,400ft) .

I'm raising funds again for PACE, a Childrens Charity which does great work in helping kids with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disorders.

Just Giving sends the sponsorship directly to PACE and makes sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

All sponsorship received is greatly appreciated by me, and more importantly it's put to great use by PACE.

Cheers

"Nineteen hundred metres up there, is completely different from 1,900 metres any place else. There's no air, there's no oxygen. There's no vegetation, there's no life, Just Rocks. Any other climb there's vegetation, grass and trees. Not there on the Ventoux. It's more like the moon than a mountain."
Lance Armstrong
