Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Cycle 1000 miles from one end of the country to the other? I said I would never do anything like that again....but so did Sir Steve Redgrave!!

Whats my challenge for 2010?? Its called The Rockride, and its a cycling event which starts in Gibraltar and heads back to Buckinghamshire...a mere 1500miles in 14 days?! Not only will I be covering over 100miles everyday, i'll also be cycling in the scorching July heat of Spain and Southern France...Oh, did I mention that we will also be riding over the mountains of the Pyrenees as well...Gulp?!

So, why am I doing it? As well as challenging myself, i'll also be raising much needed funds for PACE, a childrens charity based in Aylesbury. PACE teach children with Motor disorders such as Cerebral Palsy to retrain the active part of their brain to overcome their disability, and carry out everyday tasks which you and I would take for granted, such as walking unaided to the shops, or being able to pick up a cup. With the support of PACE, these children can go on to lead as independent a life as possible. Having visited the centre and seen the work that PACE do, I was inspired to raise funds for them, the way I see it, is that my challenge is only for 2 weeks, theirs lasts a lifetime!.
