The Prince's Trust- Capgemini Wild UK Challenge · 4 September 2008 to 7 September 2008 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

A HUGE Thank You!  for visiting our Teams fundraising page.

Our team  POSITIVE CHANGE  has now completed the Capgemini UK WILD Challenge raising money for the Princes Trust .

To say it was a gruelling event is an understatment. A month of rain fell on Exmoor on Friday, and where were we.... hiking 27 miles to the top of Exmoor and through the surrounding countryside.  Wet does not describe it.  We could have spent the day in the swimming pool and been drier.

Overall we hiked, orienteered, kayaked and cycled 101 miles from the North Devon to the South Devon Coast,  over the two and a half day event.

Not only did we complete the event but we came an incredibly respectable eigth out of thirty teams who took part - far exceeding our aim of 'not coming last.  Our superfit team consisted of:

David 'The Ginga Ninja' Culling - now known as 'Cap'n'
Hilary 'The Fish' Gallo - now known as 'Lunchbox'
Chris 'Mid Life Crisis' Gravestock - now known as 'walking sticks'
Ian 'EcoWarrior' Fuller - now known as 'king of the mountains'
Andy 'The Money' Keyes - now known as 'where's my trousers'
David 'The Ringer' Morris - now known as 'slow gears only'

Thank you if you have already donated.  Thank you also if you are visiting the site to donate after the event.  We have until 22nd September to close of our donations and we would dearly love to beat the magic £10,000 mark. All monies raised are going to the Princes Trust to support the activites they undertake (please see left panel)

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prince's Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
