Flora London Marathon 2006 · 23 April 2006 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Enormous thanks to everyone who sponsored me.  I got round in 3 hrs 44 mins 46 seconds - 15 minutes faster than last year - and your support played a big part in pushing me on to the finish line.

Those of you who know me will also know that in 1998 my daughter Mattea (we call her Mattie) was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of just 15 months. After two years of chemotherapy and lots of help and support from the NHS, friends and support charities, we were able to start putting our lives back together. Mattie is now a happy, healthy 8-year old, and we feel it's time to give something back. That's why my chosen recipient was the LRF. Their extraordinary work will one day ensure that leukaemia is no longer a threat to life, and it's vital that they get the financial support they need to continue their research.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

If you'd rather send money direct to me, you can, at 3 Newtons Orchard, Kilmington, Devon EX13 7UG.  Cheques payable to Leukaemia Research Fund please.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
