Story
Hi everyone
First things first, I'm really not a long distance runner. I'm more used to looking like that there picture on the left than prancing around in running gear. As many will know, I don't like running a long way, unless there's food or beer or both at the end of it.
During a moment of madness (maybe too much alcohol or cheese) I signed up for the Great South Run last year but about two weeks from the race I badly sprained my ankle playing rugby. So, because I'm not too smart, I'm back again this year to take one for the team.
I'm running for the Sailors' Society, based in Southampton, which looks after the world's seamen (hehe, seamen. Go on, you know that's funny...). I'm not religious but these guys do good stuff taking care of people who are a long way from home.
It would be cracking if anyone feels they can spare a few quid to sponsor me. Trust me, I'm not going to make a habit of doing these long runs so this is a great chance to give up a little bit of cash to see me go through absolute hell.
Cheers in advance for the support.
Now the boring stuff... Blah blah...
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sailors’ Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
