Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In May I will be cycling from Bristol to Edinburgh to raise money for MediCinema. My proposed route will take me 500 miles across the country, up A roads, B roads, across the North Yorkshire Moors and over Hadrien's Wall through rain, sleet, winds and hopefully some sun. I will be traveling this distance unsupported. My steed for this odyssey will be my mountain bike, the 'International Bicycle of Rock and Justice'. It has 21 gears, of which nearly half are in perfect working order.
The route, for the geographically minded among you, is as follows:
Day 1: Bristol- Stratford upon Avon 71.3 miles
Day 2: Stratford upon Avon- Sleaford 78 miles
Day 3: Sleaford- Scunthorpe 61.3 miles
Day 4: Scunthorpe- Bridlington 64 miles
Day 5: Bridlington- Thornbury on Tees 67 miles
Day 6: Thornbury on Tees- Hexham 49 miles
Day 7: Hexham- Galashiels 63 miles
Day 8: Galashiels- Edinburgh 31 miles
Total mileage: 484
It is predicted that in all the distance will be over 500 miles once suitable campsites have been found each night. However if this is not the case then once I am at Edinburgh I will do a lap or two of the airport to round the mileage up. This will be verifiable by the GPS records that I will be making along the way.
