My great friend Chris Kemp was diagnosed with MS in 2001, aged only 31. This is a cruel disease which gradually destroys your nervous system, eventually robbing the sufferer of their physical abilities. Despite being a fighter (and if you know Chris, you'll know he is a fighter!) Chris has a very aggresive form of MS which has left him with limited movement and reliant on help at such a young age with 2 children of 7 and 5 years old. Seeing what he and his wife Clare have to cope with has drawn me to deciding to raise money for MS sufferers.
Many of you will already know Chris. For those of you who don't he is a living legend - a larger than life character and a true friend to so many.
When I was invited to do this challenge, I didn't have to think twice about supporting The Multiple Sclerosis Society. I really do hope you will be able to support this incredibly worthwhile cause, which has a massive impact on helping the lives of those afflicted by this cruel disease.
So, what does this challenge involve? Well, on 17th June I will be meeting up with 9 others and their bicycles and we will be setting off from London on a 317-mile 4-day journey to Paris, over some challenging terrain and averaging 80 miles a day. Yikes! I have bought a smart racing bike and completed many miles of training ... but will it be enough...??!!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: MS Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
