Hello. This year, three teams from the University of Exeter will be taking part in Barcelona Bangers. It is a rally taking place from the 17th to the 20th July this summer. Team 12 (Dan, Andy and Jamie) have purchased a beast of an Audi 80. It is a B registration, was designed with a ruler and is metallic dark green. I have heard that the power to weight ratio is pretty poor! A laugh indeed! More details and photos to follow.
Team 16 (Eve and co.) have bought a K registration 2 litre diesel (eek) peugeot 405 saloon.
Team 51 (Will, Chris and Alex) had to unfortunately, scrap the first car we bought (a 1985 volvo 360 gls due to major corrosion issues). we have now purchased an N registration WHITE Vauxhall Corsa. But it is only three door and only got a 1.2 litre engine.....so we'll be packing light....at least the girls are meeting us there!
We chose CLIC Sargent after a University friend of ours was diagnosed with Lymphoma last September. Fortunately, after months of chemotherapy, he is in remission. Our friend, Jonny, told us that he benefited greatly from CLIC. We would like to give something back to the Charity by raising money for them.
We will offer to companies who sponsor us the opportunity to have their company logos "stickered" on the sides of the car.
We would like to note that every penny raised from sponsorship will go to CLIC. None of it will be used for car maintenance, petrol or for our personal use.
