I HAVE DONE IT!
 
I completed the 192 mile ( 309 km. ) Coast to Coast Walk from 24th September to 8th October.
 
I have done the walk for my good friend and former teaching colleague, Kerry Barlow, and the charity of her choice. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, Kerry underwent 6 months of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She had to go into hospital for further surgery while I was doing the walk. The courage, spirit and fortitude she has shown have impressed all her family, friends and colleagues.
 
The money that we raise through the walk will be directed to the fund of the Oncologist who has been treating Kerry at Christie's.
 
Statistics show that with cancer affecting 1 in 3 of us at some point in our lives, all of us are likely to be touched by cancer in some way . Indeed, many of us already know of family and friends who have been affected by cancer.
 
Taking these points into account and since I have walked 192 miles for such a worthwhile cause, we do not think it is asking too much for a minimum donation of £10 per person. Naturally, if you could afford a larger donation, we would be very grateful for your generosity.
