Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 10 June I will be taking part in the Dark Peak Marathon (DPM), run by the University of Nottingham Hillwalking and Rambling Society (RAMSOC). This is a 37 mile route, taking in a large proportion of the dark peak area and including approximately 2000m of ascent over the route. I will be aiming to complete this in a time of 10 hours, which will involve a combination of running and walking. More information on the route can be found at http://su-web2.nottingham.ac.uk/~ramsoc/pages/walking/dpm.php.
The Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation supports all mountain rescue teams in the peak district, they not only rescue walkers and climbers but also assist the police with search and rescue as far south as Milton Keynes. Mountain rescue teams are entirely reliant on donations for all of their costs which are between £10,000 and £25,000 per team, depending on their size.
