Update - 26th May 2008 Well we made it! We finished the walk on Friday a bit foot sore and weary but definitely in good spirits and feeling better for the experience. If you haven't already done so, you can see the pictures and read all about our big adventure by clicking on the link to our blog below. Once again, thank you to everyone for the unbelievable support. Its not too late to donate if you haven't done so yet or you know someone else who might like to. This site stays open for another couple of months yet. Update - 14th May 2008 Our walk is now only a few days away and we have created a blog so that, if you wish, you can follow our daily progress. Just click on the following link to take you there: http://www.wilmottwalkthisway.blogspot.com/ Thank you for visiting the Wilmotts Walk This Way fundraising page. This page is in memory of Gill Wilmott who sadly lost her battle against breast cancer in August 2007. The picture of Gill, opposite, was taken at the wedding of her youngest daughter Rhian in April last year. Despite being very ill by this time, she was determined to enjoy the day. This is just one of the many happy memories we have of Gill, but, with her beautiful smile, its how all the family would like to remember her. In tribute, Gill's husband Colin and his four brothers (David, Alan, Clive and Paul) aim to walk the 95 miles of the West Highland Way in Scotland to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign. The walk starts in Milngavie, just outside Glasgow and ends at Fort William. Our plan is to complete it in 6 days, starting on 18th May and finishing on 23rd May. Its going to be a challenge but we are all in training and looking forward to it. By choosing to support Breast Cancer Campaign, we want to do our little bit to help others avoid the suffering that Gill experienced. If you would like to help us with our fundraising, donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Breast Cancer Campaign will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you. The fundraising got off to a great start thanks to the generosity of friends at Croesyceiliog Rugby Club who pledged £1,025 at a dinner in February. With your help the total has continued to rise on an almost daily basis ever since. Who knows how much we will have raised by the time we arrive in Fort William.
Many thanks for your support.
