The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we’re moving further and faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. A cure really can’t wait

Story

Hello, welcome to our charity page. We are 5 students trekking to the Nepalese Mount Everest Base Camp in the Himalayas to raise money and awareness for Brain Cancer. One of our number, Scott Hattrell, recently suffered the loss of his father to a grade IV Glioblastoma brain tumour and so the opportunity to help fund research into this disease has personal significance for Scott in particular.

We will be walking for a month in September of this year from Jiri to the base camp, which is 17,598 ft above sea level. This will involve ascending over 40,000 ft and descending around 30,000 ft. Although Base camp is our target destination we also plan to ascend Kala Patthar which at 18,192 ft is actually higher than the camp. We will be carrying all of our own equipment. All procedes will be going to the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust.

Any donations will be much appreciated.
