Babies and Breastfeeding Information Encouragement Support
Is held weekly on Wednesday mornings at the Lanterns Children’s Centre Winchester. It was started on May 16 2007,by NCT Winchester and is run by Jane Moffett and Jennie Gavin, both N.C.T Breastfeeding Counsellors. It is open in 2012 thanks to amazing generosity from users of the service, members of our local community,Winchester Round Table but most of all the dedicated fundraising team of 2011.
B.A.B.I.E.S has provided a safe place for mothers to come for support, to ask questions, share their difficulties and meet other mothers with similar concerns.

BABIES costs approximately £5,000 annually to run and is available 51weeks of the year to any breastfeeding or pregnant woman in Winchester and the surrounding area. Since May 2007 we have received funding from the NCT Winchester branch, An Awards For all Grant and donations from Winchester Round Table and Lanterns Children's Centre as well as many very generous individual donations and fundraising from a wonderfully committed and hardworking team. A summer funday in June 2012, after successful events in 2009, 2010,2011, is now being planned, see the nct winchester website for more details.

We offer accessible information through our publications and our antenatal and postnatal courses as well as counseling and telephone support through our Breastfeeding, Early Days, Enquiry and Pregnancy and Birth Lines. Our 314 volunteer led branches provide community based services to new & expectant parents throughout the UK.
