On Sunday, May 2nd, I took part in the Sunrise Sunset event in support of Windsurfing 4 Cancer Research.
We were on the water at sunrise, to raise money for cancer research and cancer support charities, and to raise awareness of prevention and early detection. See the Poole photos.
Thank you everyone for your donations to the charity. Also thank you very much to Steve Soutar of the The Real Meat Co Poole for the free burgers for the BBQ! Cash donations from those enjoying the burgers also went to the charity.
To get a feel for the event, last year's BBC news video has on the spot interviews, with the founder and a windsurfing legend.
The allocation of the funds raised last year is shown at the bottom of the w4cr.org home page.
The cause is dear to me as the founder is doing all this because of and inspite of his cancer treatment, and his ambassadors are legends in the windsurfing community.
