Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and joining myself (Ross McCulloch) and my fellow all round good chap (Craig Usher) in our winter challenge!

The West Highland Way is undertaken annually by thousands of walkers, both seasoned and beginners, however in winter it is a completely different story! With temperatures dropping to as low as -24C and an abundance of snow almost a certainty, any walker hoping to complete "The Way" in winter will have to travel light, and stop to seek accommodation everynight, and resupply every day. We are hoping to break this trend by doing all 96 miles of the The Way completely unsupported. Dragging everything we will need from food, clothing, and safety equipment behind us in Arctic Sledges, as well as the 2 man tent in which we will be spending every night. The seriousness and level of danger involved should not be underestimated (least of all by us!).

Assuming all goes well we hope to complete this between 17/12/11 and 24/12/11 and make it back in one piece to enjoy Christmas!

We're doing this all in aid of the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team who we believe are the unsung heroes of the hills! They do exceptional work and save countless lives especially in winter and it's about time they got a thank you!

So please, dig deep, leave your support. And maybe we'll be home for Christmas! :)

Ross & Craig.

It's now even easier to give! Just text WHWC69 followed by the amount you wish to donate to 70070! E.g to donate £5 your text message would look like this: "WHWC69 £5" and be sent to 70070! Every little helps :)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
