Story
THANK YOU SO MUCH for sponsoring me for this year's marathon. If you haven't, it's not too late!!
Well, Sunday's run was hard I won't deny. I was ill for the month prior to running, concequently, my training and fitness took quite a knock. I managed to run for the first half but had to walk for the remaining 13.2 miles as everytime I tried to break into a jog, I felt like I had golf balls in my calf muscles and I struggled to breathe. I think I hit the wall that everyone talks so much about!! Anyway, my time was 5hrs 47mins which, considering I made it across the line unaided and on two limbs opposed to four, wasn't bad.
.....Until next year (it's a maybe at the moment!), thanks for your support. Much appreciated.
Yes, I'm running/jogging (and most likely some walking!) the Flora London Marathon again in memory of my brother-in-law, Simon Pangborn, who sadly passed away aged 35 of viral myocarditis. Myocarditis means inflammation of the myocardium. The myocardium is the heart muscle. Myocarditis can affect anyone at any age.
You'll all know that I'm built for comfort and not for speed and that this'll be no "walk in the park" for me. I completed it last year and believe me, covering 26.2 miles by shankes pony ain't the easiest or most pleasurable thing in the world!!
So, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SPONSOR ME NOW!! There you go, I can't ask plainer than that. Every penny raised from my efforts will go towards the Simon Pangborn Memorial Fund.
Please, If you are going to sponsor me, please do it now without navigating away from this page. It'll take you no more than five minutes.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cardiac Risk in the Young will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you so much for your support,
Jonathan.
