Event: The Marsden March 2013, on 17 March 2013
In memory of William Lyne
We fund life-saving research to help cancer patients everywhere.

Story

William Lyne was diagnosed with AML TYPE M7 in Feb 2011 and was treated with Chemotherapy at the Royal Marsden in Sutton until June 2011. Unfortunately he relapsed over Xmas. He then undertook 3 courses of Chemotherapy again at the Marsden Sutton and had a bone marrow transplant in April/ May 2012.Unfortunately 5 months post transplant he relapsed yet again and sadly died in November 2012.

A group from my family have decided to walk the Marsden March on March 17th 2013 to support the Hospital Charity for where William was treated. I have seen first hand some of the results of the proceeds of the charity, in particular the new childrens centre at Sutton, in which the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity contributed the substantial sum of £16 million.

I know money is tight for everyone at the moment, but if you can spare anything we would very much appreciate your support as we obviously feel we want to give something back to the hospital. Any donation from £1 upwards would be great. We would honestly prefer a £1 donation to no donation, and would in no way be offended and take any donation as a step towards our target.

About the charity

We raise money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
