St Richard’s Hospice is an independent charity offering free, expert care for adults with an illness that cannot be cured, and support for their loved ones and carers. Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,000 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

Story

This year marks the 25th anniversary of St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester.

Your Worcester News has teamed up with the charity to help it raise much-needed funds for the rest of 2009.
Our aim is twofold: To raise awareness of St Richard's - and the remarkable work it does - through our newspaper and website, and to encourage our readers to donate as much as they can to the hospice.

St Richard's needs to raise £4.5m each and every year to continue providing all the services it offers to people living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Our appeal is not aimed at raising millions - just to hand over as much as we can to the hospice at the end of this year.

St Richard's services include 24-hour in-patient care; home care from specialist nurses; visits to the day hospice and support from the family support team.
All these services are provided free-of-charge and the 1,800 patients who use the hospice each year rely on generous donations from members of the public.
Seventy per cent of the amount needed is raised from these donations and the remaining 30 per cent is provided by the NHS, making your generosity vital to the charity's survival.

Please watch the video to the left and donate what you can today. Help make a real difference to the users of St Richard's Hospice.
