Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Staff from Woking Community Mental Health Team and Cornerhouse have set themselves the arduous task of climbing the three highest mountains in Britain. The mountains to be climbed, in order of elevation, are Ben Nevis in Western Scotland (1344 m), Snowdon in North Wales (1085 m), and Scafell Pike in North-Western England (978 m).
We are doing this in order to raise money for a welfare fund to provide emergency financial support to people with mental illness when in crisis. Mark Girvan, Charlotte Macgregor, Ann Wright, Sonia Mourelle and Steven Anderson will be making the climb under the stewardship of experienced outdoor man, the intrepid Patrick Guinard. Additionally there will be logistical support from Duncan Sloman, Elaine Mazurkiewicz and Des Barnes.
We are not all hardened climbers though, and will be doing the event over a week-end in early November, and in challenging light and weather conditions. We are all very aware that sometimes when people are ill, just surviving can feel like climbing the highest mountain too, and we therefore hope our efforts will attract your kind donations, however large or small.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: CornerHouse (who hold the welfare fund) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Every penny you donate will be applied to this specific fund, so please generously sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
