Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and looking at the reason some of Wolves Women FC Players and Staff are running a Half-Marathon.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity SNAP and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

So please dig deep and donate now.

WHO & WHY ARE WE DOING A HALF-MARATHON?

Who:

Vicky Mitchell - Head Coach, Jen Anslow - Defender, Hannah Williams - Defender, Leanne Rimmer - Defender, Amber Quick - Midfielder, John Fellows (Quicks BF) and Chloe Jones - Ex Wolves Player.

Why:

In Memory of Deeanna, a young girl who had autism and had muscular dystrophy. She had a love for books and Cinderella, a friend of Vicky's family.

In the summer holidays of 2011 Deeanna's parents had heart breaking news: They were told that Deeanna of 12 years had been diagnosed with Cancer and devastatingly was told she had only weeks to live not months nor years.

Due to this news many people wanted to help support the family in many ways to make all her dreams come true and one of those dreams was holding a princess day because of her love for Cinderella, many people donated gifts for the children, time and even a princess carriage making her dream come true of being a princess for just one day. Sadly just two weeks after she passed us by.

Where do SNAP come into it?

Deeana, her parents & her carers spent time at SNAP who are a self funding organisation devoting time for autistic children and their families. Their Special Needs Adventure Playground has been designed specifically for children with special needs and has been running successfully in Cannock since June 2003. To see more about SNAP please visit: www.snapcannock.co.uk They also help support parents with a valuable opportunity for them to relax and unwind in the knowledge that their children are in a secure environment where they can play in an unfettered way enjoying to the full their new found freedom.

Deeanna spent much of her time reading books and we want to help SNAP create a book corner in Deeanna's remembrance (Deeanna's Corner) along with other caring people who donate their own time and effort.

Please help us help this dream of ours come true....

Wolves Women Run 4 Deeana
