Post-marathon update:

Well I've done it! I crossed the line with a time of 3h 41m 05s so needless to say I'm chuffed to pieces!

The weather was a real bonus and I managed to see a few friendly faces along the way which drove me on.

People have asked whether I'll do another one... I think for now I am going to enjoy a little rest and rediscover fine ale... Ask me again in a month or so!

Previous updates:

I completed my final 'BIG RUN' on a glorious Friday afternoon. 20 miles took me around West London and thanks to a few friends I was able to pick up a few strategically placed water bottles along the way! I managed the run in under 3 hours which puts me well on track for a sub-four finish... fingers (and my badly blistered toes) crossed...

I suffered a slight setback to my training schedule in March due to a much anticipated skiing holiday, but entry (courtesy of my sister) into the "Mud & Mayhem" 10k at Thetford Forrest was the perfect way to get back on track. I managed to finish 9th with a time of 44m11s... but I'm not sure I'll be aiming for that sort of position in April!

In March, after a frantic week of eBay-style bidding, 11 lucky dunnhumbians walked away with the latest hair-care products at ridiculous prices, all courtesy of the Unilever team!

In February, Chris Gartside and I managed to raise around £50 with a Valentine's Day raffle. Not much, but it saw two lucky winners go away with a box of chocolates and a bottle of bubbly!

My story:

I did the London Marathon in 2009 and managed to finish in 4hrs and 11 measly seconds. Those seconds have taunted me ever since so I’ve decided to give it another go!

Now the more I think about it, the less likely it seems that I’ll manage a sub 4hr time. BUT it’ll all be worth it if I can hit my target of £1,500 in aid of a charity that I am dearly fond of – Self Unlimited.

Self Unlimited maintains a network of support services for people with learning disabilities across the country. To read a little more about the great work they do, visit www.selfunlimited.co.uk.

Thanks again for stopping by, and if you see me taking the lift or ordering extra fries then please do remind me of those 11 seconds!

Cheers :)
