Story
Right.... let's get cracking with this: I am running a marathon to help research into Parkinson's disease. I am not a runner - up until two months ago I hated running and little did I know that things would soon change.
Then Nika, who has an interesting gift for motivating me to do all sorts of mad things, suggested that we run a marathon. Hey, why not? I knew from the start that I would want to give it a bit of a charity spin and help out with something that's quite close to my heart.
Some time ago I found out that my uncle in Australia was diagnosed with Parkinson's and his wife, one of the closest people in my family, was very distressed and suffered greatly as well. Not much later I saw my grandmother suffering more and more from age related issues which was truly heart-breaking.
Before it all gets teary and sad, let's get to the point: I might be doing my knees in, but I do plan to do it for a worthy cause.
