We are a bunch of London Ambulance Service Staff, who are going to attempt to break the World Record for the Longest 5-A-Side Football Match. We are going to be playing for 40 HRS!!

We are raising money for MERU (http://www.meru.org.uk/), a fantastic charity, helping kids with specialist equipment. This has particular relevance to me as organiser, as my little three year old nephew has benefitted from such equipment. Jack will be one of the team mascots, so you can meet him on the day!

We hope that you will find time to give a donation, and a message of support for the Player you know!

The match is to be played 9th-11th September 2011, at the Play On Indoor Sports Arena on the Isle of Dogs, 

Currently the record is around 42 hours!!...so that got to be worth a few quid.

At 14.07 11/09/2011 we finally stopped playing, having broken the record and set a target of 43 hours!

Nearly every player has an injury of some sort and the lack of sleep was awful, but we got through it in our own ways, and stuck together as a team

 

Huge thanks to family and friends who helped us through the whole event, especially my two sisters who did the log books and deprived themselves of sleep for the cause! And to Brian, head caterer! And Play On Sports for providing the amazing venue.

Its not too late to give whatever you can, we really appreciate all your donations.
