Wellbeing of Women is the women’s health charity saving and changing the lives of women, girls and babies through research, education and advocacy. We do this by investing in world class research, championing education, raising awareness and tackling the taboos that exist in women’s health.

Story

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In September 2009 the Smiths (Sallyann and John) are trekking up Kilimanjaro to raise funs for Wellbeing of Women (WoW), the only UK charity dedicated to solving the health problems that affect women. Over the past 40 years WoW has invested millions of pounds in funding the very best in medical research and training, resulting in some remarkable progress. In fact every woman living in the UK since 1964 will have benefited from advances made possile by WoW. However, half of women in the UK still experience a reproductive health problem during their lifetime, be it trouble conceiving, intensely painful periods or gynaecological cancer - something of which John is only too well aware as a doctor specialising in the laboratory diagnosis and prevention of gynaecological disease.

WoW is working hard to improve women's health. Yet despite its best efforts the charity still receives more important research grant applications than it is able to fund. With your help more research projects could be supported to discover solutions that will enable women to get more out of life.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We have already raised £500. We will be digging deep in September to reach the highest point in Africa, so please dig deep to help us achieve our fundraising target.

Thank you again for visiting our JustGiving page.
