Story

Hello, my name is Toby, and I'm five years old. I have written a letter to every country in the world, but I'm still writing. AI am writing to anybody who can write back, but many people can't even buy a stamp, they can't even buy food! So, in a lot of countries, I'm writing to people who are there to help, like disaster specialists, and people who work for charities. ShelterBox help by sending special boxes to countries where people need them. You even get a number for your box and can see where it goes to help people! A ShelterBox has lots of things in it to help a family, like a tent and tools, and things to make the water clean, and even toys for children.

A whole box costs £590, and at first, that was my target. But then so many people helped, I now want to raise as much money as I can, but the target is for five boxes. Maybe you'd like to sponsor me for writing to the world, but I'll do other things as well - I've done a raffle already.

You can read about my project at www.writingtotheworld.com.

Thank you for helping me help people! Bye, Toby

Updates 10

Toby is still writing! To date, there are 370 letters, and he has nearly covered all US States, Canada Provinces and Territories, and Australian Territories. Does anybody know anyone in Nunavut, by any chance??

Thank you for all the amazing donations - Toby is now working on his fourth box! With the typhoon in the Philippines, Toby is very much aware that bad things happen to real people all over the world, and our thoughts are with those affected.

Toby has written to the world!! Thanks to the help of so many people, he has achieved his goal - but he says he doesn't want to stop! He asked me to update his target to "as much as possible" - since that doesn't work, we've set it to five boxes for now. Thank you for your help!

Thank you so much for continuing to help Toby - Toby was on BBC World Service, so a special thank you to all listeners finding their way here!!

Toby is half way towards his third box - thank you so, so much for your generosity!
