We support Birmingham Children's Hospital to improve the lives of sick children

Story

In February 2014 Freddie was born. He is the son of one of Wynniatt-Husey employees. Freddie was noticeably different at birth and after a year of intense hospital visits and examinations he was diagnosed with a rare neonatal version of Marfan Syndrome.

Marfan Syndrome is a connective tissue disorder. Connective tissue holds all the body's cells, organs and tissue together. As a result of having this, Freddie is a regular visitor to the eye and heart departments at BCH and is about to undergo major heart surgery.

The staff at Wynniatt-Husey have been touched by Freddie's experiences and challenges and want to support the hospital that is doing so much to transform Freddie's life. Hoping that Snowdon is just the beginning of their fund raising activities, they are proud to contribute towards improving the futures of the children and their families who desperately need the  hospital's help.

Please give as you are able to support our climb up Snowdon. All money raised will go directly to the hospital

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
